SZN 5: Spring 2026
Small in Numbers, Big in Heart
The Spring 2026 season wasn't defined by wins and losses. It was defined by resilience, growth, and heart.
Coming off the Fall season, our focus was simple: improve. We wanted to see our players take the skills they had been working on in practice and apply them in games. While our final record of 4-14 may not jump off the page, the progress made by this group was impossible to miss.
With only six players for much of the season, every tournament presented a challenge. There were no substitutions to rely on, no opportunities to rest, and no excuses. The girls played through fatigue, adversity, and injuries while continuing to compete with teams carrying full rosters.
What we saw was a group that refused to quit.
Olivia Takes the Next Step
One of the biggest stories of the season was Olivia's development as a ball handler and playmaker. Due to injuries, she was asked to take on significant point guard responsibilities and embraced the challenge.
As the season progressed, Olivia became more comfortable running the offense, handling pressure, and creating opportunities for both herself and her teammates.
Season Highlights
4.2 points per game
Team leader in assists
Led the team in scoring in multiple games
Significant improvement in ball handling and court vision
Her confidence and growth at the point guard position were a major factor in our development this season.
Joslyn Continues to Own the Glass
Joslyn remained the heart of our interior game this season. As one of our most consistent players and leaders in minutes played, she continued to show a natural knack for finding the basketball and creating extra possessions for the team.
Her rebounding, hustle, and willingness to battle against bigger opponents helped keep us competitive throughout the season.
Season Highlights
3.8 points per game
7.9 rebounds per game
Team leader in offensive rebounds
Multiple games with 10+ rebounds
Her toughness and determination set the tone for our group every weekend.
Leia's Defense Makes a Difference
Defense often doesn't show up in the box score, but Leia's impact was felt every game.
Her ability to pressure opposing ball handlers, force turnovers, and create disruption helped give our team an edge in close contests. As the season progressed, her confidence on the defensive end continued to grow.
Season Highlights
Team leader in steals multiple games
Consistently guarded opposing team's primary ball handler
Key defensive plays in several close games
Her defensive effort gave us the extra push we needed when games were on the line.
Beya Continues to Grow and Learn
Beya continued to make steady progress throughout the Spring season, showing growth in both her confidence and overall understanding of the game. While still developing a consitent outside shot, she provided a valuable ball-handling presence for the team and was often called upon to help manage pressure and keep the offense organized.
Season Highlights
3.6 points per game
Provided valuable ball-handling support and offensive stability
Continued improvement in confidence and decision-making
Multiple key contributions in close games
Beya's growth mindset and dedication to improving have been evident all season long. We are excited to continue watching her development and believe her best basketball is still ahead of her.
Tatum Brings Energy Every Weekend
Tatum continued to develop as a finisher around the basket while bringing positive energy to the team every weekend.
Whether diving after loose balls, running the floor, or encouraging teammates, Tatum consistently found ways to contribute beyond the stat sheet.
Season Highlights
Improved finishing around the basket
Consistent effort and hustle throughout the season
Positive teammate and energy provider
Game high 12 points w/ 4 points per game average
Her growth and commitment to the team have been exciting to watch.
Harmony Leads the Way
Harmony continued to be the driving force of our offense throughout the Spring season. As our leading scorer, she consistently stepped up when the team needed a basket and showed tremendous growth in her overall game.
Beyond the scoring, Harmony is making strides on her decision-making, became more confident handling pressure, and developed into a player her teammates could rely on in key moments.
Season Highlights
12.8 points per game
Led the team in scoring
Multiple double-digit scoring performances
Season-high 24 points
Harmony's growth this season was a reflection of her hard work, and we're excited to see her continue building on that foundation..
Small in Numbers, Big in Heart
The final record was 4-14, but records rarely tell the whole story.
What the record doesn't show is a group of girls who played entire weekends with little to no rest. It doesn't show the sacrifices they made, the adversity they faced, or the determination they displayed every time they stepped onto the court.
This team learned how to compete when things weren't easy.
They learned how to fight through challenges.
They learned how to trust one another.
Most importantly, they learned that toughness isn't measured by wins and losses, it's measured by your willingness to keep showing up when things get hard.
This season made us stronger.
This season made us tougher.
This season made us battle tested.

The Benicia 7: Building, Growing, Competing
We’ve just hit the halfway mark of our fall season, sitting at 1–3. But if you’ve been around this group, you know the record doesn’t tell the full story. This is a new team, a mix of returning players and fresh faces learning how to find their rhythm together. Whether matched up against older competiton or on days when only 5 could show, the girls have fought hard leaving it all on the court showing passion, purpose and pride.
This Fall we're running slim with the “Benicia 7”. Still young, still learning, but showing up every day with energy, effort, and the desire to get better. That’s what makes this group so special.
Finding Our Groove
On the defensive side, Leia continues to be a pest, disrupting opponents and giving us extra possessions. Olivia is coming along strong too—she always brings hustle, energy, and a spark that the whole team feeds off.
Harmony and Joslyn have been leading the way with scoring, stepping into roles where the team leans on them to set the tone. Newcomer Bea has quickly made her presence felt—knocking down shots and giving us another outside threat.
Sirat, our returning player, is back and more determined than ever. She’s putting in the work to become the player she wants to be, and in time the growth will show.
And when Tatum is on the floor, her energy is unmatched. She’s both a cheerleader and a competitor, embodying the spirit of this team.
More Than a Record
The growth is what stands out most. This is the most intentional group we’ve had yet—committed in practice, willing to learn, and building chemistry with each game. The girls are still discovering the game, but they never give up, and they’re starting to understand how their pieces fit together.
What’s Next
We’re halfway through the season, and the focus now is simple: keep getting better, one practice, one possession, one game at a time. The next test comes this Saturday at the Covert Hoops Fall Series, and we’re hungry for that next win.
No matter what the scoreboard says, these girls are laying the foundation for something bigger in Benicia. It’s about presence, growth, and creating opportunities for new players to join in. Watching them compete—and enjoy the game—has been a joy.
💙 Wrapping Up an Incredible Spring & Looking Ahead to Fall!
This spring season was a special one for our Lady Blue Devils family. We challenged ourselves with a full schedule of tournaments and showcases, and each game helped us grow, learn, and come together as a team.
🏀 Overall Record
We finished the spring with a strong 14–11 record, playing 25 games against a variety of talented opponents.
What makes this even more impressive is how far we’ve come in just one year — after finishing our very first season last summer/fall with a 12–17 record, this spring showed clear growth in confidence, skills, and overall team chemistry. Our girls' hard work, commitment, and willingness to learn continue to shine through each game.
🏆 Tournament Highlights
Our girls earned key wins across several events, including:
State 2 State Tournament (2–0 record)
FFB Ballers (including an exciting overtime victory)
Midvalley Premier (2–0 with strong team performances)
Wine Country Fest (two dominant wins showing our offensive growth)
Bay Area Hoop Community events (undefeated record)
GSG Hoops (a great win and competitive battles)
These tournaments highlighted our progress as a team and showed how far we've come since the start of the season.
💪 Strong Offensive Performances
Throughout the spring, we saw major strides on offense. Games where we scored over 30 points showcased our ability to share the ball, play together, and create opportunities for everyone on the floor.
⭐ Key Contributors
We had incredible contributions from every player this spring:
Harmony was a consistent force, leading the team with an impressive average of over 10 points per game. Her ability to score in a variety of ways and set the tone for the team was a huge part of our success.
Leila delivered some of the season’s biggest single-game performances, including a standout 20-point game, and was a steady presence on both ends of the court all spring.
Joslyn stepped up as a reliable scorer and playmaker, showing confidence and composure in key moments.
Tatum, Olivia, Leia, Jo Jo, and the entire roster each embraced their roles, contributing big plays, defensive stops, and energy that helped carry us through tough matchups.
It was inspiring to watch players support each other and take turns stepping into big moments throughout the season.
🔎 Growth & Focus Areas
Alongside our successes, we faced tough challenges against strong competition — opportunities that pushed us to grow even more. We identified key areas to continue focusing on:
Consistency against higher-level teams: Staying confident and composed under pressure.
Scoring depth: Continuing to develop more options so every player feels ready to step up.
Ball security and defense: Improving ball handling and tightening defensive rotations to stay strong against aggressive opponents.
Every game was a learning opportunity, and the growth we saw from start to finish was incredible.
📈 Season Trends
One of the most exciting trends this spring was the steady improvement in our offensive production and team balance. As the season progressed, more players contributed, and our team chemistry grew stronger each week.
It was also great to see Mallory, Macie, and Mary build confidence and become more comfortable stepping into games and making plays. Their development added important depth to our roster and showed just how bright our future is as a program.
We also continued to grow as a team community, welcoming new faces and creating an environment where everyone can learn, compete, and have fun.
✅ Looking Ahead: Fall Season Tryouts!
